How to Export Your LinkedIn Connections

LinkedInexportimportconnections

LinkedIn is one of the most valuable sources of professional connections. By exporting your LinkedIn connections and importing them into Chasqui, you can unlock the full potential of your professional network for warm introductions and relationship-driven growth.

Step-by-Step Export Process

  1. Access Your LinkedIn Profile: Sign in to LinkedIn.com and click the Me icon at the top of your homepage.
  2. Open Settings & Privacy: Select Settings & Privacy from the dropdown menu.
  3. Navigate to Data Privacy: Click Data privacy on the left navigation pane.
  4. Request Your Data: Under the How LinkedIn uses your data section, click Get a copy of your data.
  5. Select Data Archive: Choose Download larger data archive, including connections, verifications, contacts, account history, and information we infer about you based on your profile and activity.
  6. Request Archive: Click Request archive. LinkedIn will begin preparing your data.
  7. Download Your Data: You'll receive an email at your primary email address with a download link. This usually takes a few hours to a day to process.
  8. Extract Connection Data: Once downloaded, extract the ZIP file and look for the Connections.csv file in the data archive.

Important Notes

Privacy Considerations:

  • Some connections may not have their email addresses visible in the export — only those who have allowed their connections to see or download their email address will be included.
  • You can only export your 1st-degree connections (direct connections), not 2nd or 3rd-degree connections.
  • Languages with extended character sets (Chinese, Japanese, Hebrew) may not display correctly in CSV format.

Importing to Chasqui

Once you have your Connections.csv file from LinkedIn:

  1. Go to Chasqui Settings: In your Chasqui dashboard, navigate to Settings → Account Manager.
  2. Click Import CSV/Excel: Look for the "Import CSV/Excel" button in the "Connect More Accounts" section.
  3. Delete unneeded rows: Delete the first 3 rows of the file.
  4. Upload Your File: Select your Connections.csv file from LinkedIn.
  5. Map Your Columns: Chasqui will automatically detect common LinkedIn fields like:
    • Name → Contact Name
    • Company → Work Experience Company
    • Position → Work Experience Position
    • Email Address → Email (when available)
    • Connected On → Relationship Date
  6. Import & Enrich: Complete the import and optionally enable enrichment to automatically find additional contact details like phone numbers and updated job information.
